Roel Villanueva has been a resident of Mercedes, TX all his life. He married Rebekah Villanueva in 1998 and now have 3 wonderful children- Sarah Jean, Rebekah Ruth, and Noah Villanueva. Roel attends Rio Life Community Church where he serves as Pastor/Elder and plays drums in the Worship Team. Serving in his local church is joy to him and enjoys developing new relationships through the ministry.
Roel Villanueva has enjoyed a successful career as a State Farm Agent since September 2000. His success in this business has given him the opportunity to see and visit many countries over the last 16 years. Roel is also a licensed fishing charter Captain for since 2002. Both business go hand in hand when it comes to customer relations and thus has been able to be successful in both.
Another big part of who Roel is takes us into the BBQ competition world. He and his team have been competing for about 12 years. Two years ago, they started BBQ Church at all competitions they attend. This is a short 15 minute devotional sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The love of people and servant attitude has been a key part of what makes Roel who he is. A God fearing man who truly enjoys serving people and taking the back seat instead of the limelight. Sharing the Gospel is what drives him and witnessing people come to His saving knowledge is what gives him joy.
