Brud Jones was raised in Kansas City, Mo., but has deep roots in Texas and a special fondness for Corpus Christi and the Gulf coast. His great grandfather acquired the island in 1928. Since then his family has been committed to preserving the island’s pristine beauty through a commitment to environmentally responsible land use. Brud is currently managing the Jones family real estate in Texas as well as continuing his consulting work in Kansas City.
Brud is an entrepreneur. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Economics and Finance. He founded a successful investor communications business that he sold to DST Systems, one of the world’s largest shareholder record keeping companies. Jones remained an executive for DST, before starting other entrepreneurial ventures, including a digital photography company, an art gallery, a medical software company and a consulting and travel company.
Besides managing his business interests, Brud is a photographer, fine art digital printer and digital photo consultant. He leads numerous photography trips each year with an emphasis on Asian destinations, while pursuing his own photography projects.
Brud has two children in college – Abbey is studying nursing at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., and Spencer is in the Cox School of Business at SMU.
