Trinity University Bachelor of Arts- Music

Barbye received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Trinity University. She began her sales career with a small franchise shoe shine company. Being an entrepreneur, she quickly grew from 4 locations to 11 and over 20 employees. She moved on to working for some of the largest companies in the world. Bristol- Myers Squib, Johnson and Johnson, and Coca-Cola. After almost 30 years in Sales and Management, Barbye decided to “retire” and take on the greatest role of her life. She is now a stay at home mom and “serial” volunteer. She is actively involved in the local TideChanger Chapter in Tilden, Texas, president of the parent/teacher organization at McMullen County School, on the board of directors of Live Oak McMullen County Child Welfare Board, and active life member of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition. She is past board member of Epilepsy Foundation of Central and South Texas and is active in the Cursillo movement within the Episcopal Church.

Barbye lives on a ranch in South Texas with her husband John, of 18 years, and 16 year old daughter, Reagan. They are all passionate about outdoors and you can frequently find them on the Sporting Clay range, a hunting blind, or other outdoor pursuits. She is passionate about this mission because, she too, grew up in a one parent household . Her mother was awesome and guided her in many ways but she realized that there were things she just couldn’t do. Her passion is to mentor kids and help them be the best they can be.
